2006年秋、岐阜市出身のアーティスト日比野克彦の大規模な展覧会が岐阜県美術館で開催されたことをきっかけとして、アートで人々の心をつなぎ、岐阜の持つ魅力(DNA)を再発見するさまざまな事業が開催され、その中心的なボランティア・プロジェクトとして『こよみのよぶね』は始まりました。

地元の伝統文化産業である和紙と地元で採取された竹を使用し、巨大数字行灯（1月～12月）12個と干支の行灯を地域の人と共に制作します。

毎年夏頃から公開ワークショップとして、子どもからお年寄りまでの幅広い年齢層の方々の参加者の手によって地道に制作されていく「つながるアート」は、人と、自然と、場所と、文化と、そして時を紡いで、こよみ(暦)行灯に明かりを灯し、一年で一番長い冬至の夜に、長良川を流れます。

The project began from HIBINO ‘s solo exhibition at GIFU, the museum of the fine art in 2006. The exhibition held various

art programs to connect people and led to rediscover Gifu’s attractive points through art. 〈KOYOMI no YOBUNE〉 was the main project in the exhibition.

The project is to make big Japanese lit lamps, “ANDON” shaped like numbers of 1 to 10 made by Gifu’s Washi and bamboo.We begin to make “ANDON” every summer with citizens of varoius generation in Gifu. The process is not short term one. Gifu citizen will make “ANDON” , and thus create “connecting art” through the project. Finally, we lit “ANDON” lights , and float them on the Nagara-gawa river in the winter solstice.

The project gives us an opportunity to connect with people, nature, place culture and time.

This project has also been done in Tohoku area to pray for the 3.11 since 2013. “TOHOKU KOYOMI no YOBUNE” is held every year in TOHOKU area on March 11th. “ANDON” makes an opportunity to pray for the victims of 3.11.
